In order to complete your VTS successfully and get your certificate to practice as a GP in the UK, you must complete summative assessment.  This is a test of reaching a minimum level of competency to practice independently.

There are four components to summative assessment:

The written exam (MCQ/EMQ/SBA) (exemption if you pass MRCGP MCQ)

The audit (or a project under the National Project Marking Schedule)

The video (exemption if you pass the MRCGP video)

The structured trainers report. 

There is no charge for sitting any of these components.
